Handmade means no two pieces are identical.

One cup might have a slightly wider rim. Another might have a softer curve or a glaze that settled differently along the edge. Sometimes there is a tiny mark where the hand shaped the clay, or a subtle change in colour that only becomes visible when you hold the piece in your hands.

These details are easy to miss at first.

But they are also what make a handmade object feel personal.

A small variation reminds you that this wasn’t made by a machine, all at once and exactly the same every time. Someone shaped it, touched it, turned it, glazed it and placed it in the kiln.

These details are not imperfections.

They are part of the piece — and part of its story.
